Port of Townsville

The Port of Townsville is Northern Australia’s largest container and automotive port, and the country's leading exporter of copper, zinc, lead, sugar, fertiliser and molasses. 

Located in the heart of Northern Australia's largest city, the Port handles more than 30 diverse commodities and is a strategic defence and cruise port.

The Port of Lucinda is located 100 kilometres north of Townsville, and is the prime sugar export facility for the Hinchinbrook region.

Trade through these ports is forecast to treble over the next 30 years, and the $1.6 billion port expansion plan will ensure that the Port can facilitate growth in a sustainable manner.
